ABCD scramble format

ASGA Tournament Director, George Robbins provided the explanation below of the format for the ABCD scramble tournament being held at MoWilly on 1 September 2009:

1.  Plan on 4 flights - A, B, C, D.
2.  Divide the total entrants into 4 equal groups based on handicaps.
3.  The 25% with the lowest handicap would form the A flight group, the next 25% the B flight group, the next 25% the C flight group and the last 25% the D flight group.
4.  Assuming 96 players, each flight would have (6) 4-man teams.
5.  Each flight group would than be divided into 4 equal groups based on handicaps of that group
6.  The 6 lowest handicaps would be the A player with the next 6 lowest the B player and so on for C and D players.
7.  MoWilly will make up the teams from these groupings.
8.  Play will start on both hole #1 and hole # 10.
9.  Call in before Friday, 28 August at 5:00 P.M. to sign up for the tournament.
