Clyde Ward Receives Honorary Lifetime Membership to ASGA

In a ceremony at the 25 January 2008 ASGA Board of Director's meeting at Lion's Municipal, Clyde Ward was presented with ASGA's first Honorary Lifetime Membership.  Mr. Ward was accompanied to the ceremony by his wife, Lorine Ward, and one of his sons, Dace Ward.

After welcoming the Wards to the ceremony, ASGA President, Al Chock formally presented a certificate to Mr. Ward with the following words:

"I am delighted to inform you that the Board of Directors of the Austin Senior Golf Association has voted unanimously to elect you as our first Honorary Lifetime Member of the Association. As an Honorary Lifetime Member, you are granted in perpetuity all privileges and rights of a Regular Member as stated in the By-Laws.

We are grateful to you for 21 years of active participation in the Association, including your past service as President, Vice President, and Secretary-Treasurer. We also wish to recognize your accomplishments as Special Events Chairman, which include heightening the prestige of the ASGA in the community by coordinating the volunteer program in which our members helped the City of Austin with its golf tournaments.

Clyde, on behalf of the Board and membership, let me offer you my heartfelt congratulations. We value your friendship, and look forward to your continued participation."

 

Mr. Ward was very pleased to receive this honor and indicated that it ranked just below his marriage to Lorine and the birth of his children in importance to him.

Al Chock further stated that:  "We are also planning a special spring golf tournament in May in honor of Clyde Ward.  It will be a two man total net score and held on two consecutive days.  More news will be coming out later as we are in the planning stage and we want everything to be right."
