ASGA BOARD MEETING

FEBRUARY 4, 2009

Attending the meeting were President L.E. Clarke, Al Chock, Gene Payne, Ken Blake, George Robbins, Travis Eckert, Paul Redden, Benny Moskowitz, and Bill Barreda.

1. FINANCIAL STATUS

The Board reviewed the Association's financial status. Cash on hand was $4,300 (all numbers rounded). Another $500 might come in from members renewing and from new members. Expected expenses were $2,200: June tournament $500; Annual Championship $1,200; stamp and other expenses $500.

2. CONTRIBUTIONS

With this relatively strong financial position the Board considered making contributions to Morris Williams and to the First Tee of Austin.

    THE BOARD DECIDED:

        1. To offer $500 to Morris Williams to help pay for fans for the pavilion.

        2. To give $600 to First Tee of Austin for a one year scholarship for one "at-risk-student" to participate in First Tee's after school program.

3. DUES PAYMENTS

After discussing various ways of dealing with members who do not pay their dues on time,

    THE BOARD DECIDED:

That the Secretary-Treasurer should contact any member who plays in a tournament without having paid his dues.

4. ASGA MARSHALED TOURNAMENTS

Mr. Eckert said the ASGA would marshal the University of Texas Morris Williams invitational. After some discussion of this and other tournaments ASGA is involved in,

    THE BOARD DECIDED:

When ASGA marshals a tournament, ASGA members would be informed through the ASGA web site of volunteer opportunities.

5. BOARD MEETINGS

The Board discussed increasing transparency of Board meetings. To promote transparency,

    THE BOARD DECIDED:

        1. To inform members of future Board meetings along with the agenda. Notification would be on the ASGA web site and on the bulletin boards at the city courses.

        2. That any ASGA member could attend Board meetings.

Respectfully submitted

William E. Barreda

Secretary-Treasurer
