New BBQ Chairman

At a recent meeting, the ASGA Board of Directors appointed ASGA Past President, Gene Payne, to be the new Bar-B-Que Chairman for ASGA.  Gene replaces longtime Bar-B-Que Chairman and legendary pitmaster, Jim Shipwash, who retired from the position effective 2011.

We thank Jim for his longtime service in this position and for all the great Bar-B-Que he and Travis Eckert supplied over the years.

We also thank Gene for his willingness to step up and take over this position which requires a significant amount of time and work.  When asked if he had any comments on his recent appointment, Gene said only that he will be looking for some volunteers to help set up and serve the meal at our annual Bar-B-Que events.
