Aaron D. Overstreet, Sr. 1922-2008

Aaron D. Overstreet, Sr., 85, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, February 16, 2008, in Austin. He was born in Russellville, Indiana, to Earl and Clara Belle Overstreet. Aaron married the love of his life Marjorie on September 17, 1942, in Salem, West Virginia. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant in the 96th Infantry Division during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Aaron graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture. He was an avid golfer who has made 5 holes in 1 and a skilled woodworker.

According to L. E. Clarke, Mr. Overstreet joined ASGA circa January, 1991 and played regularly in the tournaments until August 2005.  ASGA members offer condolences to Mr. Overstreet's family.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 W. William Cannon Dr. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. in the Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Chapel, with entombment following in the Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Mausoleum.
