Larry Ronald Letscher unexpected passed on Friday, January 22, 2010.
Larry was born on June 6, 1941 in Port Arthur, Texas where he attended St. James Catholic School. For High School he attended Marion Military Institute in Marion, Alabama.
He graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor in Business Administration, a Masters in Public Accounting and also earned his CPA designation.
After college he held several accounting-related positions in industry, non-profit organizations, and government. He became quite active in state and national politics.
He was also an event planner in both politics and entertainment. He produced events for television and sit-down affairs with talent such as Frank Sinatra, Olivia Newton-John, Willie Nelson, Diana Ross, and Dollie Parton.
He was a very avid golfer and member of ASGA for about 2 years. He was a strong supporter of "Save Muny" and loved the many different public golf courses around Texas. As much as 5 days a week he could be seen on a golf course around Austin where he was affectionately know as '"Leapin' Larry". He was a very competitive golfer and always tried to out-drive anyone he played with.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, January 30, 2010 p.m. at Austin-Peel and Son Funeral Home, 607 E. Anderson Lane and IH 35. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Austin Humane Society, 124 W.
