Robert (Bob) Merrifield 1924-2010

Robert (Bob) Merrifield, 85 of Austin died suddenly on July 11, 2010.  He lived most of his adult life in Virginia and Texas.  He served in both World War II and the Korean Conflict.  His careers included a stint with the Central Intelligence Agency, historian at the Johnson Space Center, and Dean of Social Sciences at San Jacinto College South.  After his retirement, he and his wife relocated to Austin where he was very active as a volunteer for many organizations. Mr. Merrifield is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lee Ann, as well as several children and grandchildren.

Mr. Merrifield was a 2010 ASGA member in good standing; he last played in an ASGA tournament in July, 2009.  ASGA offers condolences to Mr. Merrifield's family and friends.
