Tom Wilson 1918-2010

Thomas Jackson Wilson Born May 12, 1918 and died on January 4, 2010.

 

Mr. Wilson graduated from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. He served in the Army Air Corps (Air Force) during World War II.

 

He met Elizabeth Belk on a date to a USO dance, and they were subsequently married and had three children.

 

He worked in several engineering jobs, and eventually started his own company, (Capitol Marble and Granite Co.). He enjoyed discovering new granite quarries and seeing his natural stone projects throughout the U.S. and other countries

 

He loved to travel, and he and Elizabeth traveled all over the world for 20 years after he retired at 60. He enjoyed playing golf at Austin Country Club and Lost Creek, and according to L. E. Clarke, ASGA Past President, was a member of the Austin Senior Golf Association from 1992 to 2005.

 

The family will hold a memorial lunch beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 10th in the Hospitality Room at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis, 411 Ranch Road 620 South. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Entombment will follow at Forest Oaks Mausoleum in Oak Hill. Obituary and guestbook available online at www.wcfish.com.
